To our sweet bhabi ji, you will be sadly missed. Love you so much. I will miss our chats and our messages. I am grateful to god that we got to share find memories and some awesome trips. My deepest condolences to all the family. Balwinder was a very special, amazing woman.
Balwinder you will always be in my heart. You were an amazing leader/boss/friend. Always available for me when I needed to have a chat about issues going on in my life. Giving me a sounding board and great advice. I have missed you all the time you were dealing with your illness, and will miss you always…..you will always have a special place in my heart Funny, I reached out to you this past week to talk to you, told you all about what was going on, how I was feeling and it gave me peace. Even from above you continue to help, give me a peaceful feeling. My only consolation is that you are now at peace…..no longer in pain. That makes me happy.
God has a special Angel with him, her name is Balwinder.

For over 30 years, Balwinder was an inspiration for those who worked with her at the Centre for Education & Training (now Achēv) and a caring supporter for so many immigrants to Canada. She was a leader whose sincerity, kindness and wisdom touched so many clients, staff, and stakeholders.

Balwinder brought her energy and insight to everything she touched. She supported her colleagues through tough times, motivating them and willingly sharing her expertise. We don’t forget people like Balwinder, she will remain in our hearts and continue to inspire us as we travel our own paths.

My sympathy goes to her family who loved her so much and her many close colleagues. Thank you for the invitation to the funeral service – it is an opportunity for reflecting on purpose, and acknowledging what an important role model Balwinder was and how she served her family, workplace and community is so many ways.

Balwinder will be dearly missed. It was an honour to work with and get to know her over the years. It was the work that brought us together, but the shared laughter that made us friends. She was a leader and coach. She cared about her community, colleagues and clients. Rest In Peace.

Just a few weeks ago I bumped into my friend, out front of his mother’s house where I first learned she was ill. While I was saddened to hear the news and more so, now knowing she is gone, I was glad to have the opportunity to share a little story with him that he did not previously know. His Mum, your lovely Aunty, and Mother that you are all missing so dearly was the first person to introduce me to the practice of Yoga many, many years ago. I was invited into her home, shown how to incorporate yoga into my busy life and how to reap the benefits of taking some time to be calm, meditate and care for myself in the same way I have always cared for others. Change didn’t happen overnight but slowly and surely yoga became a regular part of my life and I have met other wonderful people too as a result. What she gave me was a gift, that has lasted for many years now and that I have been able to share with others. You truly never know the impact someone has on your life. I am a stranger to most of you but grateful for my brief time spent with Balwinder. May she rest in everlasting peace and may you all cherish your memories always.

It is harder day after day to come to work and not to see Balwinder around. It is a very heavy load to carry for people who have worked with her and have known her for so many years. We miss you, Balwinder.
